The Detroit Lions are among the betting favorites to land not one, but two NFL stars ahead of this year’s trade deadline.
At BetOnline, the Lions have the fourth’-best odds of landing Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans, if he ends up getting traded, at +700. The Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites at (+150), followed by the Buffalo Bills (+300) and New York Jets (+500).
On top of that, BetOnline gives Dan Campbell’s Lions the second-best of landing Washington Commanders’ star edge rusher Chase Young at +300, behind only the NFC North rival Chicago Bears at +200.
The Lions entered the 2023 season as the consensus favorites to win the NFC North division. They got off to a tremendous start last week by upsetting the defending Super Bowl champions at Arrowhead Stadium last Thursday.
Both Evans and Young are entering the final year of their respective contracts; the Commanders declined the fifth-year option on Young’s rookie deal.
As for Evans and the Bucs, the two sides were unable to reach an extension ahead of this season, and the plan is for the perennial Pro Bowler to test free agency next year.

Young missed the Commanders’ season opener with a stinger in his neck, and it remains to be seen if he’ll suit up in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. Evans and the Bucs will host the Chicago Bears in their home opener this Sunday.
