A massive trade proposal has a top AFC club landing perennial Pro Bowler and star wideout Mike Evans from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Evans, who turns 30 years of age next month, is entering the final year of his contract. With Tom Brady retired, the Buccaneers are widely expected to be one of football’s worst teams in 2023. If that’s the case leading up to the trade deadline, GM Jason Licht may start entertaining offers for his star wideout.
During an appearance on Heavy.com’s Paul A. Esden Jr.’s “The Jets Zone” podcast, Joe Caporoso of Badlands proposed a blockbuster trade that has the Bucs sending Evans to Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets.
Caporoso proposed the idea of the Jets sending Tampa multiple mid-round picks for Evans.
On Thursday, Rodgers reworked his deal for the Jets that saw him take a mammoth $35 million pay cut, freeing up cap space to help the AFC East club go all-in during his tenure here.

Evans has recorded nine straight 1,000-yard seasons to open his career, the only player to accomplish that feat. Considering that he put up such numbers for six years before Brady arrived, there’s no doubt that he would make a good pairing with Rodgers.
Adding Evans to an offense consisting of 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, fellow wideouts Corey Davis, Mecole Hardman and Allen Lazard plus running back Breece Hall would be a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
