Deryk Gilmore, the agent of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, has made it very clear what his client is looking for when the free agent market opens in 10 days.
Speaking to Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Gilmore stated that Evans is looking to join a Super Bowl contending team with an elite signal-caller that will pay the five-time Pro Bowler top dollar as well
“Mike wants to play with an elite quarterback in an offense that will showcase him — and be paid like a top wide receiver. He doesn’t want to play with a rookie QB. Winning a Super Bowl is a key priority.”
The Kansas City Chiefs have the game’s best QB in Patrick Mahomes and would give Evans every chance to win, but they’re also in a cap bind and may not be able to offer him top dollar. Ditto for the Buffalo Bills with Josh Allen and the Dallas Cowboys with Dak Prescott.
The Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens stand out as logical suitors as well. If the San Francisco 49ers end up trading one of their weapons, then it would open up cap space to pursue Evans.
NFL Fans were quick to draw assumptions based on the comments from Evans’ agent:
