Aaron Rodgers was the biggest draw to New York training camp as his era has officially begun as the star quarterback strode into training camp in style on Wednesday. However, another player on the team was determined to steal some of his spotlight.
The Jets players reported to training camp in Florham Park, New Jersey, but one of them came in with style.
Second-year defensive end Micheal Clemons showed up shirtless while carrying a bat wrapped in barbed wire. He also had on sunglasses and black sweatpants.
The fourth-round pick out of Texas A&M last year was a dominant force in his rookie campaign as he racked up 2.5 sacks, 36 tackles, and six QB hits while playing less than 30 percent of defensive snaps. Clemons primarily appeared in early-down or short-yardage situations and played dominant football against the run.
His raw power jumped off the screen and it will be hard for the Jets to not play him even more in a season that has had high expectations with Rodgers in town.
The team is getting an early start to training camp because they are booked to play in the Hall of Fame game in Canton on Aug. 3 against the Cleveland Browns.

Just about everything that happens in camp will be recorded and played back since the Jets were selected as this year’s “Hard Knocks” subject. Clemons may end up being a star of the show.
