Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick provided insights about Colin Kaepernick’s return to the NFL.
For the first time since he was blackballed by the league, Kaepernick secured a workout session with the Las Vegas Raiders. There’s no signed deal between the Raiders and the free agent QB as of yet, but it’s still some progress for the exiled passer.
NFL Network’s journalist Mike Garafolo provided more information.
“The fact that they didn’t tell him immediately is not necessarily an indication that they have moved on. It’s more about let’s see where this goes,” Garafolo said.
“Let’s see our roster. Let’s see where else he winds up working out there. That can be a factor as well, but I’ll say yes, and likely in Las Vegas.” he added.
Michael Vick, a former first overall pick, spoke to OutKick360 about Colin Kaepernick and his possible return.
“I think it’ll happen in due time. Typically with a quarterback in Kaep’s position, he’s been out of the league for a couple of years, and he hasn’t played in a long time,” Vick said.
“It’d probably be smart to come in in a backup role and just play that backup role for another two or three years. And when you get an opportunity to start, you show that you can play.”

“You win a series of games. You win five or six games,” Vick added, while trying to explain how Kaep could possibly earn a starting role again somewhere.
Vick is a 4-time Pro Bowler and he played more than 15 seasons in the NFL.
