Michael Thomas couldn’t be happier.
Derek Carr was done waiting around for the New York Jets, so he went and signed a new contract with the New Orleans Saints in NFL free agency, according to multiple reports. He’s getting a four-year deal, according to NFL Network.
One of his new teammates loved hearing this news.
Saints often injured WR Michael Thomas took to Twitter and responded to the news.
“Thank you Jesus,” Thomas wrote while adding a praying emoji.

The Jets met with Carr twice before his signing. Once happened in New Jersey and once again at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis as they are searching for a veteran quarterback after Zach Wilson’s struggles in 2022. With Carr off the board, the Jets’ next best option is seemingly Aaron Rodgers, who has not yet decided if he wants to keep playing. If he does, we still do not know if he might demand a trade.
For the Saints, they now have a solid starting QB for the first time since Drew Brees retired. Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Michael Thomas has been limited to just 10 games over the last three seasons.
With a bonafide QB behind center, hopefully, his health can get better so the Saints can be great again.
New Orleans already has a top-10 defense, but just lacked a signal caller to get things done on offense. The 31-year-old Carr has a major chip on his shoulder to show the Raiders they screwed up by letting him go.
