The Dallas Cowboys have been linked with another star wide receiver ahead of October’s trade deadline.
Despite owner Jerry Jones claiming to be satisfied with the current roster, America’s Team could certainly use another top-tier offensive player, which is why FS1 analyst Keyshawn Johnson has suggested that they trade for New Orleans Saints wideout Michael Thomas.
Speaking on ‘Undisputed’ this week, Johnson advised Jones to make a play for Thomas, adding that the Cowboys wouldn’t have to give up a first-round pick as he’s already 30.
“But that’s on Jerry to do, not me,” he said in conclusion.
Johnson is Thomas’s uncle, but that hardly means he was showing preference.
The two-time first-team All-Pro would be a great acquisition for Dallas, who already boast a top pass-catching threat in CeeDee Lamb, and would see things running a lot smoother for Dak Prescott.

On the other hand, the Saints are unlikely to move one of their best receivers this month, especially as they’re still in the race for the playoffs despite their 3-4 record. The NFC South is not that strong and they’re only a game behind the Atlanta Falcons for the top spot.
Should they trade Thomas, it would indicate “kicking the tires,” as Johnson has suggested they do, which would not be the best decision given the circumstances.
