Michael Thomas’ recent suspension was the result of a confrontation with the New Orleans Saints’ coaching staff, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Duncan.
The all-pro WR reportedly talked back to coaches, including head coach Sean Payton, after getting into a fight with teammate C.J. Gardner-Johnson during Saturday’s practice. The 27-year-old is also said to have yelled at team trainers for not taping his ankle properly, and he accused one staff member of illegally going through his mail, Duncan adds.
Thomas heard those accusations and took to Twitter with his response:
“You ain’t a snake but they will make you”
“Think what you want I ain’t trying to clear no rumors up.”

“I was never healthy I was just trying to help my team get a win and heal up during the bye. Had a set back was so close. And I take my health serious. Now I’m a bad guy lol bet”
Thomas was officially ruled out on Sunday due to team discipline.
Even without Thomas, the Saints mounted a huge comeback against the Chargers on Monday Night Football to raise their record to 3-2.
