On Friday, CBS put Tony Romo in the news when they kept his services by giving the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback the largest sports analyst contract in TV history. The deal to remain at CBS will prevent Romo from entering free agency next week, where ESPN was prepared to bid aggressively for him.
In response to that news, Saints WR Michael Thomas took to Twitter and cited Romo’s contract as proof that players should be negative about the proposed labor deal.
He also wrote this in a since-deleted tweet:
“This dont have nothing to do with Romo by the way. We just trying to figure out if we in the right field because I know some people that know the game also.”
Thomas is not an active member in NFL Players Association leadership, but he is one of many who have publicly threw shots at the pending CBA.
