After weeks of speculation, the Aaron Rodgers trade to the New York Jets finally became official this past week just before the NFL Draft.
New York acquired Rodgers along with the 15th pick in this years draft as well as a fifth-round pick this year in exchange for the 13th, 42nd and 207th pick this year and a conditional second round selection in 2024 that will become a first round pick if Rodgers plays at least 65 percent of the Jets offensive snaps this season.
While appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” former New York Giants star Michael Strahan was asked what he thought of the trade and how he felt Rodgers would fare in New York.
The full interview can be found below, with the Rodgers talk starting at the 2:20 mark of the video:
Strahan is the perfect person to ask this question, as he spent his entire 15 year career with the New York Giants and experienced the highs of winning a Super Bowl and Defensive Player of the Year and the lows of finishing in last place. He believes that Rodgers may struggle at first with the New York media and that there will be an adjustment period.
Rodgers is coming from Green Bay, which is the smallest market in the NFL. And now he’s in New York, which is the biggest. So things will be a lot different than what A-Rod is accustom to.

As long as Rodgers is performing up to the levels that we are used to seeing, then he should have an easy time with the New York media. The real test will come following a loss or a poor performance, and seeing how well he can handle the notoriously tough media in the Big Apple.
