Defensive back Damontae Kazee was ejected from Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after he delivered a brutal hit on wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
Pittman Jr. exited the game during the second quarter after taking a scary hit from Steelers safety Damontae Kazee. It came on a deep pass where Pittman Jr. laid out for a ball thrown by Gardner Minshew. Kazee came in hot and pummeled the Colts’ leading receiver, who was completely defenseless.
We are now seeing an alternate angle that shows how badly Pittman took that hit and why he could not return for the game.
Pittman Jr. was able to walk off the field under his own power, but he was quickly ruled out with a concussion after going to the locker room.
Before the injury, Pittman Jr. was able to grab four receptions for 78 yards. That put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season.
He is very likely to be in the concussion protocol going into Week 16 so his status is to be determined as the Colts begin preparing for the road game against the Atlanta Falcons.
