Michael Penix Jr. displayed some impressive measurements at the NFL Scouting Combine on the back of his National Championship Game appearance earlier this year.
According to NFL insider Peter Schrager, there’s a lot of buzz going on around the quarterback’s dimensions right now, with his throwing hand measuring in at 10.5 inches, which would put him in the all-time top 10 for hand size.
“Michael Penix, Jr. measurables are the buzz right now,” Schrager noted. “6-foot-2, as expected. The rest… 81’ wingspan, 10.5 inch hands, 33 5/8 arm length. His hand size is in the Top 10 all-time for QBs at the Combine, and is same as Anthony Richardson (6-foot-6) last year.”
Penix is expected to be picked early in the first round and said measurements will likely help his draft stock. Whether it gives him an edge over other top college QBs such as Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix remains to be seen.
