Former Ohio State Buckeyes guard Michael Jordan signed with the Carolina Panthers on a one-year deal back in May. His tenure with the team will only last until the final preseason game.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the offensive lineman would be released from the team amid cuts from around the league. He even scored the Panthers’ lone touchdown in their 10-7 season finale victory against the New Orleans Saints on Jan. 8.
Jordan appeared in all 17 games for Carolina in 2022 as a reserve lineman and special teamer.
Jordan came to the Panthers in 2021 after two seasons in Cincinnati, starting 10 games for the Panthers that season. He is very durable and always available as he has played in 55 career games since being drafted in the fourth round out of Ohio State in 2019. In his 55-game NFL career, the 6-6, 315-pound offensive lineman has started 29 games.
He was drafted in the fourth round and the No. 136 selection of the 2020 NFL Draft.
At Ohio State, Jordan started every game he played in his three-year career, earning Second Team All-Big Ten in 2018.
