Fans are feeling it for former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin following the latest reports on the Hall of Famer’s status.
Irvin has been out of work since February following the accusations of a female member of staff from the Marriot Hotel, with the NFL Network taking him off Super Bowl coverage and then suspending him.
Video footage of the incident in question seems to vindicate Irving as he doesn’t appear to have done anything wrong during this interaction with the female. And he is expected to seek over $100 million in damages as he is suing his accuser, whom his legal team claims “made this false report with actual malice and knowledge as to the falsity of her statements.”
Despite the above, A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports has reported that the NFL Network is keeping the former star on suspension.
“Irvin’s suspension as an analyst has spanned five months as a source with knowledge of the situation told Front Office Sports that the Hall of Fame receiver’s status at the NFL-owned outlet remains unchanged,” Perez wrote.
Fans expressed some sadness over this on social media.

Irvin has previously admitted that the suspension has made life very difficult for him as he has had to remain away from events like the Super Bowl and the NFL Draft, given that he’s used to being in the thick of things.
However, it seems like the network does not want to ruin its relationship with the resort by bringing him back to television before the matter is resolved.
