Michael Irvin hasn’t been to work since February as he became the subject of an investigation ahead of the Super Bowl.
The former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver was suspended following reports of him having sexually harassed a female staff member at the Marriot Hotel in Phoenix. Irvin is suing his accuser and it’s said that he could seek over the initial $100 million reported as his legal team claims the woman “made this false report with actual malice and knowledge as to the falsity of her statements.”
Video footage of the incident over which Irvin is being accused shows that he did nothing wrong as he appeared to be having a casual conversation with the woman in question before walking away.
According to A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports, NFL Network won’t fire Irving, though he will remain on suspension.
Perez writes:
“Irvin’s suspension as an analyst has spanned five months as a source with knowledge of the situation told Front Office Sports that the Hall of Fame receiver’s status at the NFL-owned outlet remains unchanged.”

It appears the Network does not want to jump the gun and open itself up to litigation given the way things look at the moment. However, should they return Irvin to television, it could mean that the partnership they have with Marriot will be severed.
The football legend has admitted that it’s been difficult for him to watch events such as the Super Bowl and the NFL Draft from his home as he’s used to being in the thick of the action.
But at least the Network’s keeping him around for the foreseeable future.
