Travis Kelce has long been talked about as being the best tight end in the game, and over the weekend, he may have proved it yet again.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was mic’d up during Sunday’s divisional-round win over the Buffalo Bills. We are now finding out that he not only called his own shot on the 25-yard reception that put the Chiefs into field goal range, but he also helped orchestrate the 19-yard reception by Tyreek Hill the play prior too.
“10, 10,” Kelce shouted on the sideline. “They might man you up. I’m saying go outside and come back in like you’re running a route outside, that way when you come back in, I can get in the way.”
In the video, Kelce could be seen as the lead blocker for Hill on the play. That was beyond huge.
“Hey, hey,” Kelce said to Mahomes. “If they play it like that, that seam is open.”
We all know what happens after that. Kelce makes a catch and put the Chiefs in field goal range.
