Terrell Owens made his way back onto the field and did not waste much time finding his way back into the end zone. Wearing “Prototype81” in place of his name on the back of his No. 81 jersey, Owens was the star attraction during opening day of the second season of Fan Controlled Football.
The Hall of Fame wide receiver returned to professional football on Saturday, debuting in the Fan Controlled Football league. The first reception for the 48-year-old came on the final play of the game, as he caught a 12-yard touchdown during his Zappers’ 20-12 loss to the Shoulda Been Stars.
To make things even better was Owens being mic’d up and showing him calling his shot before the touchdown.

Owens would last play in 2010 with the Cincinnati Bengals, but the receiver has stayed in shape in the hopes of playing football again in the NFL. Owens recently admitted to trying to join the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.
“I was blowing up Andy Reid’s phone last season to bring me in,” Owens recently told Pat McAfee. “You insert me in that offense and I’m gonna be a viable option.”
Owens is not likely to suit up again in the NFL, but the fact that he’s still making plays in a professional indoor league at close to 50 years old tells you everything you need to know about his competitiveness and athleticism.
