The 2023 NFL season may be the year of the non-quarterback MVP.
The last non-quarterback to win the award was Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in 2012, but Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons believes Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill deserves some recognition.
On Tuesday, Parsons pitched his MVP case for Hill but in doing so, he basically threw massive shade at Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
“I am talking crazy right now … I truly believe I could be Tyreek Hill’s quarterback,” Parsons said on The Edge with Micah Parsons, his podcast with Bleacher Report. “I could throw it up to Tyreek Hill. … This might be the crazy Madden side of me, but he’s just that good.”
Parsons didn’t directly say anything negative about Tua but you don’t need to do much work to read between the lines.
Through 12 games, Hill leads the league with 1,481 receiving yards and is averaging 123.4 receiving yards per contest, which would rank fourth in NFL history if it holds on for the remainder of the season.

Hill is on pace to rack up an NFL-record 2,098 receiving yards over 17 games this season.
Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has 3,457 passing yards and 24 touchdown passes on the year.
The Dolphins and Cowboys will have an up-close look at each other when they do battle at Hard Rock Stadium on Christmas Eve. The outcome of that game could determine so much as we move closer to the postseason. Who knows? We may see both of these teams in the Super Bowl against each other.
