Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons wasn’t afraid to be totally honest and unbiased with his choice for the current No. 1 team in football.
It’s awfully rare for an NFL player to admit that they view a rival club as the team to beat. Parsons’ admission is especially noteworthy because he plays on a 4-2 Dallas team that carries Super Bowl aspirations each year.
On the latest edition of “The Edge with Micah Parsons”, The Cowboys star linebacker explained why he thinks the archrival Philadelphia Eagles are the “number one” team in football:
“Number one would have to be the Philadelphia Eagles. Nobody has stopped the ‘tush push’ yet. Jason Kelce, Hall of Famer. Lane Johnson will be a Hall of Famer. They’re very special…Without a doubt, very special group. I don’t believe they have any weaknesses on their team.”
The San Francisco 49ers, the Eagles’ main challengers in the NFC, have now suffered back-to-back losses. With Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins, Philly is tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for football’s best record at 6-1.
Parsons is certainly correct in stating that Philly has no weakness. Jalen Hurts is a top-five QB in the game right now. DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown are by far the league’s second-best receiving duo after Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. Their o-line is the best in football. D’Andre Swift is on pace to easily surpass 1,000 yards rushing.

On defense, this is a unit that racked up 70 sacks a year ago. They added a five-star defensive tackle in Jalen Carter in April’s draft. The James Bradberry and Darius Slay-led secondary just acquired All-Pro safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans, too.
