The Miami Dolphins already had a tough task on their hand today but it just got tougher as they are set to be shorthanded as they try to win the AFC East on Sunday night.
The Dolphins’ regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills is a winner-take-all matchup for the AFC East title, and Miami will be without two of its most dynamic players.
Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and running back Raheem Mostert are not expected to play on Sunday night, NFL Network reported.
Both players missed Miami’s Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens which was a 56-19 blowout loss. If the team can somehow pull out a victory today, they can give those players extra rest before the playoffs begin.
The Dolphins have a playoff berth clinched so they are going to the dance regardless of the outcome. Miami clinches the No. 6 seed with a loss but could get the No. 2 seed with a win, which means a home game.
The Dolphins can clinch its first AFC East title since 2008 with a win or tie.
