The Miami Dolphins have waived a notable veteran wide receiver.
On Thursday afternoon, the Dolphins announced on X (formerly known as Twitter), that they have waived speedy wideout Robbie Chosen, previously known as “Robbie Anderson” and “Chosen Anderson.”
Miami signed Chosen earlier this offseason but waived him ahead of final roster cuts back in August. He was later signed back and even caught a 68-yard touchdown in the club’s 70-20 blowout win over the Denver Broncos back in Week 3.
The 30-year-old Chosen wound up appearing in four games for Miami this season, with his lone reception being the aforementioned 68-yard touchdown. Chosen was never going to get many reps in a star-studded Dolphins offense led by Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane and Raheem Moster.
Chosen best season came with the Carolina Panthers back in 2020, when he tallied 95 receptions for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns. Before that, he recorded three straight 50-catch, 700-yard seasons with the New York Jets from 2017 to 2019.
Amid a frustrating 2022 season in Carolina, Chosen was traded to the struggling Arizona Cardinals. He finished the 2022 season with 20 catches for 282 yards and just one touchdown.
