NFL fans have seen the funny side of a certain New England Patriots announcement involving none other than Tom Brady.
The Pats have announced that the former star quarterback will be in attendance when they play the first game of the 2023 season, with owner Robert Kraft stating so himself.
“I invited him back to be with us at the opening game and let the fans in New England thank him … it will be the beginning of many celebrations to honor Tom Brady,” Kraft said on NFL Network on Thursday.
New England’s first 2023 opponents were unknown at the time but, shortly after Kraft’s revelation, theScore’s Jordan Schultz revealed the Pats will host the Dolphins in their home opener.
The fixture is scheduled to take place on September 17 as part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
Given Brady’s constant links to the Fins, even in retirement, fans found this all pretty funny. The fact that Miami was fined and docked draft picks for tampering with the seven-time Super Bowl winner in 2022 made this even more of a joke.

Brady announced his retirement via an Instagram video on February 1 this year. However, the fact that it was not his first retirement has prompted multiple return rumors, with the Dolphins thought to be one of the likeliest destinations.
Whatever the case may be, they will be in the same stadium as the former Patriots and Buccaneers QB on September 17.
