Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has not hit the practice field since sustaining a high ankle sprain against the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. Things were not trending in the right direction for him to play this week.
The Miami Dolphins are preparing for their Week 17 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and they will be doing so without the services of Jaylen Waddle.
Head coach Mike McDaniel told the media on Friday that wide receiver Jaylen Waddle will not be playing on Sunday due to that high ankle sprain.
Without Waddle, the Dolphins will have Tyreek Hill, Cedrick Wilson, Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, and Chase Claypool. There is a chance they could have Robbie Chosen as he navigates his way through the final stages of concussion protocol.
Waddle will now target a potential return to action on Jan. 7th against the Bills.
Miami is now 11-4 and has a 2-game lead in the AFC East over the Buffalo Bills, who are 9-6. The Dolphins have already clinched a playoff bid and are now fighting to become the top seed in the AFC.

Sunday’s game is a big one for both teams. Should the Ravens win, they clinch the AFC North and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. If the Dolphins win, they own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens and would clinch the No. 1 seed if they win again next week.
