The Miami Dolphins have a tough Wild Card playoff game this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs and they are bringing in some help to keep Patrick Mahomes in check.
The Miami Dolphins signed veteran pass-rusher Justin Houston to a contract Tuesday, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
This was a needed signing as Miami has lost their top two pass-rushers to season-ending injuries, as Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles and Bradley Chubb tore his ACL.
With them being short on pass rushers, the organization is bringing in Houston ahead of Saturday night’s AFC Wild Card Round playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Houston is a 13-year NFL veteran who appeared in seven games for the Carolina Panthers this season before he got released in December.
The third-round draft pick out of Georgia in 2011 spent his first eight NFL seasons in Kansas City. From 2012 through 2015, Houston earned four consecutive Pro Bowl nods while being named a first-team All-Pro in 2014 when he led the league with a career-high 22 sacks.
