The Miami Dolphins mean business in 2023 after making notable strides under Mike McDaniels last season.
The team’s offense was much improved, with Tua Tagovailoa having a breakout season, despite his health concerns. But there was much to be desired from the running game.
The Fins have re-signed Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, and Jeff Wilson Jr., with the head coach making it clear that he’s keen to move on with the trio. But they’ve also shown that they aren’t averse to making more big moves, having added Jalen Ramsey to their secondary.
Miami could look to make another major trade amid the current period and, as such, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has suggested a deal with the Tennessee Titans that would see them acquire Derrick Henry. He reckons the Dolphins could pull it off by offering a third-round pick.
“The Miami Dolphins have been churning through running backs over the last few seasons, but none has emerged as a viable complement to the offense’s star-studded passing attack. That could change this offseason if they acquire Derrick Henry.”
According to Kay, the Titans would be able to aid their rebuild if they get Miami’s No. 84 overall pick. They aren’t going to the Super Bowl with their current offense so should be open to piling up some assets ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.

As for Henry, he remains a top running back in spite of his heavy usage over the past several years. The 29-year-old spent most of the 2021 season sidelined with an injury but bounced back to play 16 games last season.
Should Miami get two or three good campaigns out of the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, they might make some serious noise in several postseasons to come.
