We are getting closer and closer to the decision of the offseason on whether Aaron Rodgers will return back to the Green Bay Packers or he will be traded elsewhere.
Last offseason, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Rodgers would indeed be in his last dance with the franchise. Things have changed considerably as Rodgers’ relationship with the front office has gotten so much better that many folks around the league think he might actually return.
If Rodgers is traded, CBS Sports has the perfect place for him.
CBS Sports named the Miami Dolphins the No. 1 trade destination for Rodgers this offseason, if he were to be moved.
“Tua Tagovailoa is doing his job as a second-year starter, and he’s earned more audition time. But when has that stopped aggressive teams from acting? Miami thrived with Ryan Fitzpatrick as Tua relief in 2020, then reportedly kept eyes on Deshaun Watson despite his litany of legal issues. Rodgers would fulfill that desire for established help, and then some. A-Rod, meanwhile, would get the Tom Brady-style move to sunny Florida, where the Dolphins are absolutely flush with cap space (Davante Adams package deal?) and boast a defense ready to win now.”
Tua Tagovailoa has been playing much better behind center during their win streak, but the team could not pass up on a player like Rodgers. Not to mention, the team has been enthralled in many rumors of trying to obtain Deshaun Watson, so that would take them out of the Aaron Rodgers’ running.
We shall see.
