The Miami Dolphins will be wearing an interesting uniform mix for their Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills this weekend.
Miami fans were hoping to see their team in throwback unis for the fixture but it’s not something the NFL allows during postseason play. According to Andy Slater of Fox Sports, who cites “an NFL fashion source,” the Dolphins have chosen to wear white jerseys with aqua pants and aqua socks.
The Dolphins are back in the playoffs after coming close last season. However, they will be without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa when they play in Buffalo.
Tua is still in concussion protocol, having suffered a second worrying head injury for the season, and Sunday’s playoff game against the Bills comes too soon for him.
“As of today, Tua has not been cleared by doctors to resume football activities on the field with his teammates,” head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters on Wednesday. “So because of that and because of the time that he’s missed, I can rule him out for Sunday.”

The Dolphins are reported to have rookie QB Skylar Thompson in their plans for Sunday and are preparing like he will be the one starting. With Tua still not cleared and veteran backup Teddy Bridgewater nursing an injured finger, Thompson is likely to get the nod.
Bridgewater, though, has not been ruled out.
