South Beach is reportedly, once again, a front-runner to host a Super Bowl in the very near future.
According to a report from Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post, “optimism” is growing that Miami will be the host city of the 2027 Super Bowl. Miami has hosted a record 11 Super Bowls, the most recent being Super Bowl 54 between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs in 2020:
“There’s optimism in Miami that despite a late challenge by Los Angeles, South Florida will land the Super Bowl in 2027, a league source told The Post on Friday.”
Earlier this week, it was reported that NFL owners will grant Levi’s Stadium (home of the San Francisco 49ers) as the host venue of Super Bowl 60 in 2026. Next year’s Super Bowl will be held at Allegiant Stadium, the Las Vegas Raiders’ home venue, on Feb. 11, 2024.
Super Bowl 59 in 2025 will be played at the New Orleans’ Saints home venue, the Caesars Superdome, on Feb. 9.
The Miami Dolphins’ home venue of Hard Rock Stadium has hosted six Super Bowls. Aside from the aforementioned Chiefs-49ers game three years ago, Hard Rock Stadium also hosted Super Bowl 23 (49ers vs. Cincinnati Bengals), Super Bowl 29 (49ers vs. San Diego Chargers), Super Bowl 33 (Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons), Super Bowl 41 (Indianapolis Colts vs. Chicago Bears) and Super Bowl 44 (Colts vs. Saints).
