After being selected in the first round of the 2012 draft by the San Diego Chargers, Melvin Ingram spent the first nine seasons of his career with the team, and even moved with the franchise to Los Angeles.
However, his career has hit a snag in the last two seasons as he has been with three franchises – the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins.
Things have gotten so crazy that even Ingram had to laugh at his situation and how he hasn’t been kept around at his last three spots.
The 33-year-old is still a free agent, but now he may be finding his new home fairly soon on an up-and-coming team.
According to Spotrac, the Seahawks have a projected $8.6 million in remaining cap space which is enough to sign Ingram. That is huge drop in salary from a guy who once signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Chargers in 2017.
Last year, he inked a one-year deal worth $4 million with $1.65 million in guarantees. He might be looking for a similar amount this year and it’s uncertain if the Seahawks are willing to fork out that kind of money.

He played on 45 percent of their defensive snaps and could have a similar tally in Seattle.
The Seattle Seahawks were one of the NFL’s biggest surprises last year as they made the playoffs after most predicted they would be one of the worst five teams in the NFL.
Things are only looking up for them and Ingram could help them out.
