The Los Angeles Chargers are starting out their 2019 season in the wrong way as they may have to deal with life without their star running back for awhile.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Thursday that Gordon has issued a strong demand to the Chargers that he either receives a new contract or he will hold out of training camp and potentially demand a trade.
“Los Angeles running back Melvin Gordon has informed the Chargers that unless he receives a new contract, he will not report to training camp and he will demand a trade, his agent Fletcher Smith told ESPN,” Schefter reported.
The former standout running back at Wisconsin racked up for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, adding 490 receiving yards and four touchdowns for a team that went to the playoffs and won a game before losing to the New England Patriots.
