The situation between the Los Angeles Chargers and Melvin Gordon got even more tense on Sunday when Chargers GM Tom Telesco announced that extension talks with their disgruntled running back would be held off until after the 2019 season. The move came just a day after ESPN reported that the Chargers had given Gordon’s representation permission to seek a trade out of Los Angeles.
Gordon decided he wasn’t just going to sit back and not do anything. He took to social media and fans began to notice his peculiar activity when he started following Instagram accounts of several teams.
Gordon wants to be paid along with the top running backs in the NFL, somewhere in the range of $13 million to $14 million per season.
It’s not clear if Melvin Gordon will push harder for a trade or just sit out like Le’Veon Bell did and eventually get his way.
