Over the weekend, it was reported that the Chargers had decided to cease all contract talks with Melvin Gordon until after the 2019 season.
But in the short-term, it doesn’t look like he’ll be ending his holdout.
The 15th overall pick by the Chargers in the 2015 NFL Draft took to his Instagram story and threw out a bold proclamation that he would not be playing in the 2019 season, when he put a picture up that said, “#NoPayNoPlay.”
Along with earning two Pro Bowl selections, Gordon also has 3,628 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground, and 182 receptions for 1,577 yards and ten touchdowns receiving.
He clearly wants to get paid now and looks to be setting himself up to sit out this season.
