After a good season in 2018 where the Los Angeles Chargers found themselves in the postseason and winning a game, the team is off to a terrible start in 2019 and the season hasn’t even begun.
It all started when Philip Rivers was asked about Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon’s current contract dispute with the team and holdout and his comments showed a man who wasn’t completely supportive and somewhat dismissive of his importance.
Rivers instead talked up the other running backs on the team.
“They’re going to get a lot of work. It certainly is a deep position for us, and those guys all love to play and work hard. We love Melvin, but we’re going to go with what we’ve got. It’s a pretty dang good group.”

Gordon and the team are clearly not on the same page and may not get there any time soon as reports state the holdout could go on into the season.
In just 12 games in 2018, Gordon racked up 885 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. He also added 50 receptions for 490 yards and four more scores.
