Things are just going from bad to worse for Melvin Gordon and the Chargers.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chargers and their star running back have not made any significant progress towards an agreement on a long-term agreement.
According to Schefter, Gordon still wants to return in time for the regular season, but he is very prepared to sit out if no deal can reached during that time period. That means, we may have another Le’Veon Bell situation on our hands.
Gordon is reportedly seeking a deal worth closer to $13 million per season, but the Chargers have not wavered off its offer of $10M per season.
The former first-round pick out of Wisconsin by the Chargers in the 2015 rushed for 885 yards to go along with 50 receptions for 490 yards receiving and 14 total touchdowns during the 2018 NFL season.
