The New York Jets are looking to make a major move.
Through five games, Jets wide receiver Mecole Hardman has caught every pass thrown his way this season, which is only one so far. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Jets are looking at potential trade options for the standout WR.
The Jets signed Mecole Hardman a week into 2023 free agency, which suggested a sizable role for the former Chiefs wide receiver but it has not panned out that way.
Since quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ Week 1 Achilles injury, only two Jets receivers have garnered at least 10 pass targets from replacement Zach Wilson and that would be wideout Garrett Wilson and ex-Packers starter Allen Lazard.
Hardman signed a one-year deal worth $4 million as a free agent but it has incentives that Hardman would seem to have little chance of reaching if he stays put.
Hardman, who’s due just $2.3 million through 2023, topped 500 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons with Kansas City.
