Things will be a little tougher on the Kansas City Chiefs for the next couple weeks after wide receiver Mecole Hardman was placed on the injured reserve list on Wednesday due to an abdomen injury and an unknown illness, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
This means Kansas City will be without one of their receivers for the next four weeks, including this week’s Sunday Night Football matchup vs. the Chargers.
What makes matters even worse is that three other Chiefs receivers are questionable for Sunday’s matchup, including JuJu Smith-Schuster as he recovers from a concussion, Marquez Valdes-Scantling as he deals with an illness and Jerick McKinnon who is recovering from a shoulder and hamstring injury. The Super Bowl contending Chiefs are banged up badly.
Hardman’s absence could loom big, but he is fourth on the team for most receiving yards with 297. He also has 31 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown on top of his four receiving touchdowns.
He is coming off his best game of the season when he caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown against the Titans in Week 9.
