Patriots defensive back Duron Harmon told TMZ he wouldn’t join the team on a visit to Trump’s White House, and it looks like he won’t be the only one.
New England Patriots defensive backs Devin and Jason McCourty are also likely to skip a visit to the White House if the team is invited, according to Jimmy Golen of the Associated Press.
“A day after the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams for their sixth NFL title, Devin McCourty said flatly that he would not join the team for a White House visit.
His brother hedged only slightly.
“I haven’t thought about it, but I highly doubt it,” he said, at which point Devin playfully accused him of lying and Jason agreed there was virtually zero chance he would go.”
President Donald Trump made his preference clear about wanting the Patriots to win since he’s very close to owner Robert Kraft and QB Tom Brady. He hosted the Pats back in 2017 when they won the Super Bowl.
