Maxx Crosby has revealed telling one particular NFL team he didn’t want them to draft him back in 2019.
The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end has become one of the best players in his position since going pro, and the Raiders can’t be displeased with his production. But they might have missed out on him had he not gotten disenchanted during his visit with the Miami Dolphins.
Crosby hated his time there so much, he told his agent to tell the team not to draft him.
“Pat (Patrick Graham) was in Miami when I was coming into the league,” the star DE said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ this week. “So, I was going on my top 30 visits, and I was in Miami. For the most part, my trip to Miami — I’m not gonna lie — it was rough. All the coaches were super hard on me, and I’m like — I told my agent after — I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna come here.’ I was like, ‘Tell Miami don’t draft me.’
“But my one meeting at Miami that I liked was Pat Graham. And he was so weirdly nice to me, I thought he was being sarcastic.”

Graham, who was the defensive coordinator back then, is said to have told Crosby he was his favorite player. The two-time Pro Bowler thought he was being gassed up but they’re together in Vegas now and appear to have a great relationship.
Crosby has made two consecutive Pro Bowls and is likely to add a third appearance this season. In the six appearances he’s made so far, he’s registered 35 combined tackles, 5.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, and eight quarterback hits.
