Maxx Crosby was a menace to Justin Herbert on Sunday, but he did make some time to smooth things over with him after one of his teammates delivered a dirty hit.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers were battling in a classic AFC West showdown on Sunday, and it didn’t take long for this one to get chippy at Sofi Stadium.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert scrambled out of the pocket in the second quarter and ran out of bounds. That’s when Raiders defensive tackle Jerry Tillery stepped in and laid Herbert out with a very late hit. Chargers players came rushing in to let him know how filthy that hit was. The hit was so bad that Tillery was immediately ejected from the game.
Cameras eventually saw Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby go over and could be seen telling Herbert how dumb that hit was.
Tillery is a former Chargers first-round pick who did play against the Chargers once last season, but Week 4 was the first time he made a visit back to L.A. Maybe he wanted to send a message to his former team but went about it the wrong way.

This was a rough game on Herbert. Later in the game, he injured his hand while being blocked by two Raiders after throwing an interception.
