Another day of joint practice, another fight.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams agreed to a pair of joint practice sessions this week ahead of their Saturday evening preseason contest. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for tempers to start flaring between the two clubs.
According to reports, Raiders’ star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby and Rams’ running back Cam Akers got into a fight during Wednesday’s practice.
According to The Athletic’s Tashan Reed, Akers got agitated when Crosby tried punching the ball loose after the whistler was blown to end the play. Reed added that Akers was subsequently kicked out of practice. Levi Damien of Raiders Wire for USA Today stated “swings were thrown after “Akers lowered his head” into Crosby.

Tyler Dragon of USA Today posted a photo of the camp brawl between the two clubs following the testy exchange between Akers and Crosby.
Fights in joint practices certainly aren’t rare. It’s already happened several times this week, at the New York Jets-Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens-Washington Commanders joint practices.
And last week, Green Bay Packers guard Elgton Jenkins was taken out of practice after separate skirmishes with Germaine Pratt and D.J. Reader of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Last season, Crosby racked up 12.5 sacks and three forced fumbles on a disappointing Las Vegas team. The 24-year-old Akers finished 2022 as the Rams’ leading rusher with 786 yards and seven touchdowns.
