Could the Detroit Lions be seriously thinking of getting rid of Matthew Stafford?
That seemed to be the case when WDIV-TV reported “Sources close to the Detroit Lions have confirmed to Local 4′s Bernie Smilovitz that trade talks concerning quarterback Matthew Stafford have been underway for a couple of weeks.”
Stafford’s wife, Kelly, came across that article as well, so she immediately went to Instagram and sounded off about where she wanted her husband to go since the Lions don’t seem to want him anymore.
Kelly Stafford said she “could stay in (California)” if her husband was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers.
On Thursday, the Detroit Free Press reached out GM Bob Quinn and he denied the franchise is looking to part ways with Stafford.

“Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn refuted a late-night report that the team is in talks to trade quarterback Matthew Stafford.
“100% False!!” Quinn wrote in a text message to the Free Press.”
The Lions have the 3rd pick in the 2020 draft.
