What an awesome coincidence!
On Sunday, social media was buzzing after the Detroit Lions traded matthew Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams for Jared Goff and many picks.
Stafford and McVay reportedly had dinner together shortly after the trade, according to The MMQB’s Albert Breer.
Stafford and his wife, Kelly just happen to be in Los Cabos, Mexico at the same time as McVay as his fiancée Veronika, so they decided to enjoy dinner together after the great news.
“Once the deal was agreed to, some 1,100 miles south of L.A., McVay and Stafford were sitting down for dinner to celebrate a fresh start of their own,” Breer wrote on Sunday night. “The coach and his new quarterback happened to be among a number of NFL people in Cabo last week—Saints coach Sean Payton and QB Drew Brees, Rams LT Andrew Whitworth and others were nearby, too, over the last few days.”
Stafford has thrown for a ton of yards in his 12-year career, but has only advanced to the postseason three times, losing in the Wild Card round all three times.
The Rams are coming off a Super Bowl 3 years ago, but the team has taken many steps back that they hope to regain with Stafford behind center.
