The Los Angeles Rams may be without Matthew Stafford this weekend so the team needed to make a move.
Stafford sustained a sprained UCL in his right thumb after injuring it in their blowout 43-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Stafford is now considered day-to-day.
With the Los Angeles Rams quarterback uncertain to play in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, the team signed quarterback John Wolford off the Buccaneers practice squad.
“The Rams are expected to sign quarterback John Wolford off the Buccaneers practice squad, per sources,” Russini tweeted. “He would be rejoining the team after spending the 2020 -2022 seasons with the Rams.”
Unfortunately for the Rams, Wolford really liked his place in Tampa and wanted to stay there so he decided to turn the Rams down.

Wolford is familiar with the team as he spent the last three seasons of his career while making a few starts. After the Rams declined to tender him as a restricted free agent, Wolford signed with the Buccaneers as an unrestricted free agent.
During his three years, the 28-year-old completed 59 percent of his passes for 626 yards, one touchdown, and five interceptions.
Last year, Wolford appeared in three games for the Rams and completed 38-62 pass attempts for 390 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. He added eight carries for 32 yards.
The man clearly wants to stay in Tampa and that is what he is going to do.
