During the first two games of the season, Mitch Trubisky hadn’t thrown a single touchdown pass, but the team was able to squeeze out a victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 2.
That streak of not throwing a TD continued deep into the second quarter on Monday Night Football against the Washington Redskins, and it seemed to be getting to Matt Nagy.
In the second quarter of that game, the Bears head coach could be seen in a heated discussion with Trubisky on the sidelines where he appeared to tell him to “Shut the f*ck up.”
Whatever happened there, it worked, because Trubisky would finish the game with 231 yards passing with 3 touchdowns thrown.
The team is winning but winning very ugly, but how sustainable can this be going forward in 2019? Yes, they scored 31 points, but seven of those points came on a pick-six, and 17 more came off Washington turnovers.
Trubisky has to be better going forward as he currently is the league’s third-lowest-rated passer.
