The Buffalo Bills are sweating on the fitness of one of their linebackers following Sunday’s crushing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Matt Milano sustained a knee injury during the first quarter of the game and, according to head coach Sean McDermott, the prognosis isn’t all that positive.
“Injury update for you, Matt Milano, it’s a knee, lower leg injury,” McDermott told reporters after the loss. “I know it’s not looking good right now, but I don’t know any details beyond that at this point.”
Ian Rapoport is reporting that the player is feared to be done for the season.
Milano was having an impressive 2023 campaign for the Bills. Having agreed to a two-year extension during the offseason, he started the fixture versus the Jags with 27 total tackles, one forced fumble, and two interceptions to his name. He made a trio of solo tackles before he was carted off on Sunday.
A former fifth-round pick, Milano has established himself as a crucial cog in the Buffalo defense and they will be rue his absence. The team will now have to rely on Terrel Bernard, who has also gotten off to an impressive start this term.

McDermott will hope to return to winning ways against the New York Giants in Week 6 after seeing a three-game winning streak snapped in London.
