Fans on social media were itching to know who the guy wearing the red thong on the Eagles sideline was during their win over the Cowboys on Sunday.
One of the Philadelphia staffers had his underwear exposed while getting up after he was knocked down. It looked as if he was wearing some red panties, but he has since confirmed that was not the case.
The individual in question is Matt Leo, who works as the team’s defensive and football operations assistant.
The Australian is a former defensive end for the Eagles, having entered the NFL via the International Player Pathway Program in 2020. He played rugby and Aussie rules football while growing up and worked as a plumber before deciding to give the NFL a shot.
Leo never got to play a regular season game but spent time on the practice squad before retiring earlier this year.
He’s since taken to Instagram to deny he was wearing ladies’ underwear. Turns out they were boxer briefs from PSD and had a red and white waistband that blended with the color of his skin. The brand has some notable athletes on its roster, including Aaron Jones, Tyler Herro, and Bronny James. Looks like Leo’s getting a deal soon.
