The Green Bay Packers are set to host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round after the Niners went into AT&T Stadium and led from start to finish. While many were surprised by the Cowboys’ inability to win at home despite entering the game as favorites, it seems that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t caught off guard one bit.
When discussing his preparations for the Divisional Round, LaFleur sent huge praise to the 49ers while disrespecting the Dallas Cowboys at the same time.
“Matt LaFleur says Packers anticipated 49ers might be coming to Lambeau Field this week, so they started prep on them on bye last week. “That’s just the respect we have for them.”
Also lots of familiarity already: “There are certain things we know we want to do in every phase.”
LaFleur’s praise of the 49ers can also be seen as a diss towards the Cowboys who are known to choke come playoff time. In fact, they were the only home team during Wild Card weekend to lose their game.
His comments about preparing for the 49ers well before their game means he expected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would take care of business against the Philadelphia Eagles in their playoff opener. Of course, he was correct.

Despite plenty of regular-season success, Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been able to beat the 49ers in postseason action over his otherwise storied career. A major reason why Rodgers has just the one ring in his career is because of the 49ers.
Three times, Rodgers has faced off against the Niners in the postseason.
Three losses for Green Bay. Fourth time’s the charm??
