Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, is not happy with the league as she posted a message to the NFL on her Instagram account about the league’s handling of injuries.
This time the message was regarding something that happened to her husband’s teammate Cooper Kupp after it was announced on Tuesday he would undergo surgery for a high ankle sprain. Kupp will be placed on the injured reserve list, meaning he will miss at least the next four weeks. If the Rams continue to lose and drop out of playoff contention, it is unlikely they will let him back on the field, meaning his season is done. The move to injured reserve means Kupp won’t be eligible to play until Dec. 19th.
On Tuesday, Stafford’s wife posted a message to the league regarding playing surfaces.
“NFL, do something. Show that you wanna make it better for future generations. Saying it doesn’t matter what these men play on is complete negligence on your part,” the message reads.
The injury occurred during the Rams’ 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals after Kupp attempted to catch a pass from quarterback John Wolford in the fourth quarter. He immediately grabbed his ankle. Kupp sat out for the remainder of the game.
Kupp has been the lone bright spot for this team. He has 75 receptions, 812 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.

The Rams have lost three straight and five of their past six games. They are currently in last place in the NFC West with a 3-6 record and trail the 49ers by two games for the final playoff spot in the conference.
It seems unlikely they will get any better without Kupp on the field.
