Marshawn Lynch has been hired by Amazon Prime Video to be a part of its “Thursday Night Football” pregame.
During an appearance on The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast, Amazon Sports VP Marie Donoghue made the major announcement that former running back Marshawn Lynch will join the show.
Lynch will join the Thursday night crew starting this week, but she added he won’t be on set every week.
Via the New York Post:
Lynch will be in three to four-minute features that Amazon is calling, “‘N Yo’ City.” On Thursday, prior to the Commanders’ game at the Bears, Lynch’s first feature is him playing football with kids from Highland Park, the suburb of Chicago that was ravaged by a gunman on July 4th. The following week, Lynch will be feeding alligators before Saints vs. Cardinals.
As you may remember, Lynch was arrested for a DUI that saw his car disabled and him being thrown to the ground by cops.
“I think Marshawn wanted to work through some things,” Donoghue said on the podcast. “We were already working with him. We never walked away. We just worked through some things with him and we’re excited. We can’t wait for him to join.”

Lynch spent four years with the Buffalo Bills but became one of the game’s best running backs during his time with the Seattle Seahawks.
He also spent time with the then-Oakland Raiders after retiring for a season. He came out of retirement a second time to lace up for the Seahawks again late in the 2019 season before hanging the cleats up for good.
