For NFL fans, there are few debates more enticing than players and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
That is, did a certain player do enough to earn a gold jacket from the Canton committee? Or does he simply belong in the “Hall of Very Good?”
Take former Seattle Seahawks’ superstar running back Marshawn Lynch, for example. The five-time Pro Bowler won a Super Bowl 48 ring with the Seahawks in the 2013 season, and he twice led the league in rushing scores (2013 and 2014).
The NFL Rookie Watch Twitter account posted a tweet that outlined Lynch’s career highlights, noting that he’s eligible for Canton in 2025.
The tweet led to mixed responses from fans. Some argued that “Skittles” definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame, while others believe that the 2010s NFL All-Decade Team selection will fall short of the honors.

It’s much harder for running backs of this current era to get in, given the fact that they tend to slow down well before their 30th birthdays.
But Lynch was a six-time 1,000-yard rusher and among the NFL’s top running backs from 2007 (his rookie year with the Buffalo Bills) to 2014. Throw in the five Pro Bowl nods, 2010s All-Decade Team selection and Super Bowl ring, and he definitely has a strong and compelling Hall of Fame case.
Lynch was retired for one year in 2016 before joining the Oakland Raiders for two years. The Seahawks brought him back late in the 2019 season after injuries began to pile up at the RB position.
Lynch’s 10,413 rushing yards place him 29th all time, and he’s 16th in career rushing TDs with 85.
